ount of history. The only downfall to such an eclectic city time and time again for me personally is their lack of attention to brunch, which brings us to this week’s restaurant feature of the week.

If you are anything like me brunch is the most important meal of the day.You don’t only want a large variety of options to match your appetite it has to be as aesthetically pleasing as it is palatably satisfying. We stumbled across Federal just steps away from Conde Duque, and immediately fell in love. It reminded us in a country content with a simple bocadillo the beauty behind brunching whilst miles away from home.

As soon as you walk in, the place makes a statement with the decor being modern hip with large communal tables, big open windows, as well as an extended happy hour.  The vibe is relaxed and cool and having been in Madrid several times I almost shed tears as I kissed ham with a side of cigarette goodbye and welcomed back into my life a menu that contains sweet, savory and healthy options.Although not a whole bunch of locals frequent this place you will always find a young crowd Aussies or Americans usually thanks to the uncanny ability of these young hungry adults to find the largest variety of food possible.

I highly praise and recommend this place for the exceptional food, solid service and reasonable pricing. If you’re feeling homesick or hungry Federal is sure to fill that empty void with they avocado toast, a veggie burger a carefully crafted cocktail or a warmed up pastry.
