The Menu For a Traditional Thanksgiving Feast

Thanksgiving is only a few days away! Which means it is time to start preparing that delicious Thanksgiving dinner. You can never go wrong a traditional Thanksgiving meal and these foods are what complete the feast.

TurkeyYour main dish had to be turkey, but there are several different ways you can prepare it. You can prepare your bird by cooking it the oven or even deep-frying it. Either way, just make sure that it is juicy and tender. I am not a fan of stuffing, but I know a lot of people are and it is a must when it comes to Thanksgiving because it really compliments the turkey.

Speaking of sides, they are just as important as the turkey. You can never go wrong with a ton of mashed potatoes and homemade gravy. You can add salt and pepper to them with some butter and they will be a big hit. Staying with potatoes, you also have to have sweet potatoes. Sweet potato casserole is always a favorite, which is complete with walnuts, marshmallows and plenty of brown sugar and butter.

Another tasty casserole for Thanksgiving dinner is green bean casserole. Make sure you don’t forget the seasoning of your choice, fried onions and lots of cream. I prefer cream of chicken, but cream of mushroom is a good choice to. Cranberry sauce, if made right, is also a really yummy side to have, plus it adds a pretty red color to your plate.

Everyone has to have a glass of water to wash down the big meal, but also don’t forget your favorite wine. A red wine is always ideal when it comes to Thanksgiving.

And who could forget dessert! Everyone has their own favorite type of pie, so having a variety of pies is always nice. But that might be a lot for one person to bake, so ask guests to bring their own favorite pie to share with everyone. But you must always make sure to have at least apple pie, pecan pie and pumpkin pie.

Happy Thanksgiving!
