Kowloon Market Hong Kong: Photos from the Vault

Every week I scour the internet for some of my favorite travel photos. A couple years back I visited Hong Kong and did a photo spread on the Kowloon Market in Hong Kong. I found these photos on reddit from the user black_lace_and_heels. These show some of the more bizarre foods that are featured in a vibrant market like the Kowloon Market such Durian; a foul smelling fruit that tastes worse than it smells. Seriously it looks like something out of a science fiction book.

The Kowloon Market has been around for decades and is one of the best places to sample fresh meat in all variety’s from cows head and sheeps tongue to mystery meats that I’m sure contain some delicacies that we here in the states consider pets. That’s one of the few things I like to do when I am exploring a new city. I like to try the foods that are taboo to taste while I am in America. There was a big scare about horse meat being in food in America but I am not ashamed to say that throughout my travels I have in fact tried horse and various other unsavory meats. Simply for the sake of adventure. Enjoy the photos below.
