If you are heading out to the FIFA World Cup 2014 and you really want to have a luxurious experience than look no further than the Copacabana Palace Hotel. The resort was immortalized by Barry Manilow and has served as the premiere luxury hotel in Rio de Janeiro for over 80 years. The luxury hotel features fine dining establishments as well as a piano bar and other lofty amenities. In addition, the hotel is located on of the world famous balneario beach where patrons can lounge while sipping on fresh cocktails and listening to musicians. Chances are that some of the more high profile footballers will be staying at this palatial resort during your stay. If you have the coin this is a wonderful hotel to visit while in Rio De Janeiro

Hotel Caracas Rio:

If you are looking for a hotel that is more reasonably priced then I would recommend Hotel Caracas Rio. This hotel is just 5 miles from the airport and just under 10 miles from the stadium. Comparable to a high end chain hotel in the United State, Hotel Caracas Rio features rooms with a view of the ocean and in-room wireless internet access.

The rooms are quaint with hard wood floors and high quality mattresses and linens. The hotel includes a restaurant and bar/lounge. Complimentary breakfast is served each morning. If you are looking for a hotel with all the basic amenities that won’t break the bank I recommend Hotel Caracas Rio.

Hotel Americano:

For a hotel that comes on the cheap I recommend Hotel Americano. Located just 4 miles from the Stadium you can take a cab from the Americano for easy access to the stadium. Like the Caracas Rio, Hotel Americano also offers wireless internet in public areas as well as free parking if you choose to rent a car in Rio.

The rooms are smaller than those of its counterparts but they are clean and are equipped with functional air conditioning units. If you don’t plan on spending much time in your hotel room and don’t mind an average hotel experience this might be the spot for you.

Also, Hotel Americano is walking distance from the Museum of Modern Art as well as the historic Catedral de Sao Seabastiao de Rio De Janeiro.

Bed and Breakfast:

If you want to skip the hotel route entirely there are several different bed and breakfasts in Rio De Janiero. With varying levels of luxury the city offers Atelier Santa Teresa Bed & Breakfast, The Casa Sol Bed & Breakfast, Bed & Breakfast Santa Teresa, Villa Laurinda and many others. All of these are reasonably priced and could be a good alternative to the hustle and bustle that is bound to dominate the hotels near the stadium.
