This is a land of old school charm, where you can slough off the city life and bask in the creamy white landscape of Northern Europe. Some of the popular activities for visitors include the following:

Viewing the Northern Lights is one of the most popular reasons people travel from allover the world–front row seats to one of nature’s grandest views. Catch the Aurora Borealis’ vibrant colors paint the jet black sky, the only better view would be from space! While it’s not a 100% guarantee the lights will show up, they can often be referred to as “temperamental,” this map can help indicate when the next aurora will happen. This natural phenomenon has to do with protons and electrons hitting the earth’s magnetic field, different atoms create different colors. If you fancy yourself a photographer, this is definitely something you would want to check out, as these rays can be captured easier by a long exposure shot.

Going on a husky safari is one of those life experiences you can only get in certain parts of the world. How many times have you heard someone say that they have traveled by dog before? These dogs love to work as well as play, so there isn’t really a downside, you’re also going green by not using a snowmobile.

Staying in an ice hotel. Did you ever make a little igloo for yourself when you were a child on holiday? Now that we’re slightly more grown up, you can relive that experience, only with more comforting accommodations. You can stay inside a snow room or ice suite at some Lapland hotels.
