Best Vegan Restaurants in Seattle

I hear often from my vegan friends how hard it is when they’re traveling and they can’t find vegan restaurants. While they are gaining popularity, true vegan restaurants (with quality food) are few and far in between. However, there are some cities that do a superb job of caring for their vegan citizens. Seattle is one of those places. These are five of the best vegan restaurants in Seattle that will please herbivores and carnivores alike.

  1. Wayward Vegan Cafe: This place hits the spot every time. They serve vegan versions of comfort food, and nothing is bad. My personal favorite is breakfast, which they serve all day long. I usually get the griddle combo, so I get a little bit of every breakfast food group and don’t miss out on anything. Their lunch and dinner options are beyond incredible. Move over giant fast-food chain that rhymes with McRonald, Wayward does a vegan Rib-Wich that will not only beat the original greasy sandwich, but it’ll have you saving animals and your waistline. I could go on and on about all the delicious options Wayward offers. You might have to eat there every day for three months to experience it all for yourself.

  2. Plum Vegan Bistro: Plum Vegan Bistro brings you local, sustainable, and organic vegan food. They have a couple of locations as well as a food truck you might be able to catch. They range from healthy food to reinvented comfort classics. Protein bowls are on the healthier side with a range of grains, proteins, and vegetables to choose from. Highly recommended is the tofu jerk and yam sandwich. The flavors are so unbelievable, you won’t regret this order.

  3. Araya’s Place: Araya’s Place is the first vegan Thai restaurant in the Northwest and boy, did the first vegan Thai place get it right. They have Thai classics like phad thai and curry. They also offer spins on dishes you might now such as a pineapple fried rice. They have a wonderful lunch buffet too, if you cruise in there before 3. I can’t leave Araya’s without getting their banana curry. It’s sweet, unique and delicious. Don’t miss the chance on getting a dairy-free Thai iced tea either! I love my meat, but I don’t miss it with Araya’s dishes.

  4. Veggie Grill: Veggie Grill is an up-and-coming vegan chain restaurant out of California with locations in California, Washington, and Oregon. Their philosophy is simple: deliver clean, tasty, organic, animal-free food to every customer. Their food reflects philosophy this fantastically. With options ranging from delicious, but healthy salads to wholesome, less healthy options like Buffalo Bomber: a buffalo chick’n sandwich, Veggie Grill hits the spot for every craving.

  5. Chaco Canyon Organic Cafe: Chaco Canyon serves organic vegan food that is more on the healthier side than the rest of these restaurants, but you wouldn’t guess that based on taste. My favorite is their Thai Peanut Bowl. With no meat substitute to get around, I’m free to enjoy my rice and veggies covered in a delicious peanut sauce. The Chaco Canyon Cafe also specializes in seasonal desserts that are to die for. When I eat here, I know I’m getting wholesome food that will fill me up, be kind to my health, and won’t make me miss meat.

These are just a few of Seattle’s vegan restaurants that have me so impressed, I’m not missing anything. Seattle is one of the best cities in the country for any diet’s needs. Eat around Seattle and explore what the great city has to offer!
